llama 380 - what model, age, value

Recently aquired a Llama 380 at a gunshow.

Mini 1911 - takes down the same, locked breech, grip safety, 7+1 capacity. No model identifier on the slide (so not a minimax, micromax, especial, etc). Imported by Stoeger.

What model is this? A Llama III or IIIa maybe?

Any ideas as to age? Serial is A040xx

Any idea on value? I've seen several variations of the Llama 380 on the auction side sell for $250-350 but price seems to be model dependent ...

The age can be ascertained by one of the Spanish Proof Marks, which is a coded date. Because of the Stoeger marking would be a post 1968 import. Unless you can luck out and find someone who would just have to have it, the price range you quoted is what it would probably sell for. Llamas unfortunately don't have the best reputation for functioning, do to the quality of materials and workmanship, etc. Being a locked breech pistol like a mini 1911 would be one of the positives as far as resale value is concerned.

Dependent on condition. You could go extreme on the range you site.

It's a well made, very thin pistol for concealed carry.
Mine fed FMJ ammo without a flaw.
The grip angle was wrong for me and it didn't shoot where I pointed it
    so I sold it.
