I looked at a c-z 82...picked one I liked out of 4 being offered. I like this pistol and am thinking of getting a new 75b in 9mm.
Are there better choices in a 9mm for around the same price? The one I found was NIB for $459.00
Thanks

However, for the same price you can get a clone of that pistol (EAA Witness) and a 22lr conversion kit... or convert it to 38 super, 40s&4, 10mm, or 45acp

First of all the CZ-75 and CZ-82, obviously, are totally different guns.
Are there better choices in a 9mm for the same price? Well, there are "other" choices. . .whether or not they are better is largely subjective. (Incidentally, I think that's probably a pretty good price for a NIB CZ gun).
There are lighter guns. There are guns with different controls/operating systems (ie pure single action, external decocker, no external safety at all, etc). There are guns with different sights. There are guns with different grip shapes. Etc.
It really comes down to personal preference. What features in a gun do you like, and how well does it shoot FOR YOU?
*MY* personal preference happens to be that the CZ-75 is my favorite of the "service" type 9mm lugers (by that I mean a full sized, full capacity gun, intended for police or military use). I prefer it to Beretta, Glock, Sig 226, and Smith autos.
Biggest reason is just that the gun is an absolute perfect "fit" for my hand, and points naturally for me (Beretta and SIG are too fat). I like the all steel design that soaks up recoil (though it also makes the gun a bit heavy for all day carry, say compared to the plastic-framed guns like a Glock). Ability to go "cocked and locked" is a plus for me, but may not be for someone else. I don't like a gun with no decocker or external safety. . .though many don't like a gun WITH an external safety! Again. . .personal preference.
On EAA Witness, the SMALL FRAME guns (which are no longer being imported into the USA) are the ones that are most size-comparable to the CZ-75. I have one of these older ones, and for the price they're quite good guns. The current EAA Witness guns (that you can convert to .38 Super, 10mm and .45ACP) use a larger frame that is more comparable to the CZ-97, intended for .45ACP.
As an aside, in addition to the EAA Witness (which is a great gun in its own right with easy caliber conversions), there are several other CZ-75 clones on the market now, with slightly different features and at slightly different price points: Armalite has one made in Turkey, and the Israeli "Jericho" 941 pistol is internally similar to a CZ with external decocker and polygonal rifling. The BUL "Cherokee" is basically another Israeli made clone, only using a polymer frame.
I think I will go with the C-Z but that witness sounds interesting...I don't currently have anything in a 10...or 38 super
Thanks for the info gentlemen

Well I got the C-Z...but man, that Witness looks like quite a deal.
