1911 Swiss Rifle & Bayonet

I have a long 1911 Swiss Rubin straight pull rifle and just bought a 1911 Swiss sawtooth bayonet that is a hair too small for the rifle barrel. What is wrong? (See page 185-3 Janzen book)

    My reference tells me that there are at least two different "saw-tooth" bayonets for the Schmidt-Rubins. Both were apparently issued for use with the Carbine and thre is no reference to issue for use on the Rifle.... If you would like to look at some photos and data, go to www.swissrifles.com clik on bayonets and scroll until your heart's content. Good luck..
