Has anyone on here pulled the magazine disconnect out of a Star BM??? If so, did it make any difference in the trigger pull??? I just picked up a used BM and am thinking about putting a winch on it just to pull the trigger....

I've done it on a Star BKM and it did improve the trigger pull. It's an easy operation. I'm sure you can find details online.

Just be sure to keep all of the parts, and to restore it to it's original configuration before selling it. Also, do not let anyone else shoot it. You would be seriously liable otherwise.

I agree with keeping parts, but not let anyone else shoot it? Why? The gun is just as safe with the disconnector removed. Heck, how many pistols today even have a magazine disconnect?

Thanks guys... the disconnect's on it's way out. And the liability? I never let anyone shoot my guns and having grown up (and old) with the 1911, a magazine disconnect seems a little redundant to me. My kids will end up with my guns so I keep a little log book so they'll know details like this disconnect being pulled. I don't want them running into problems a few years down the road. I appreciate the input !
