325 WSM in "Sendero like" rifle????

Gents,

I was at Gander Mtn and looked at a Sendero in 300 WinMag. I almost bought it but thought I might like to try the 325 WSM. I guess they don't make a Sendero in 325 WSM.

So, the question is: What rifle...brand...model is most like the Sendero but in 325 WSM?

Thanks,

Slim Wallet

Welcome to the forum. To my knowledge, only Winchester and Browning make a rifle chambered for 325 WSM. Kimber might also. Good luck.

    SlimWallet,

Ruger also chambered at least 3 models for the .325 WSM but I didn't see any listed currently on their website.

Counter to your login name, there is the option of actually putting something together at a reasonable cost based on what Remington is charging for the Sendero style or VSF rifles. There are usually some Sendero rifles that come available that can have the barrels reamed, re-rifled and chambered for the .325 WSM for an affordable cost. Contrary to what the naysayers want us to believe, this is an exceptional option to trying to locate and buy a rifle style that is no longer made so that you get exactly as you want it.

About 6 months ago I was looking but could not find a Sendero anywhere - I'm sure everyone understands the "I've got to have it" urge and manic search that takes place. For some reason, between cost, caliber and availability it just didn't work out so I shelved the quest. A few weeks ago I found a 7 Rem Mag Sendero for $500.00 and bought it. And of course when I was later looking around the web for info & such I found another one - with brake - $for 525.00.

There's always a deal out there, seems to pop up not when you're on the hunt, but when you don't expect it.

Slim -- Just go to the Gunbroker homepage and in the "Search" box type in 325 WSM and enter it.
There are numerous rifles in 325 WSM that will come up including the auctions listed above by beeramid.

    Hey guys...

Thanks for the info.... I will check the auction.

But, is it correct that no more Senderos are to be made?

    Thanks,

    Slim

    SlimWallet,

You need to check the Remington website to see the list of Sendero rifles still being made.

    www.remington.com

My point was that if one of the chamberings or styles wasn't available as a new rifle, you could get a used one and have the barrel re-bored/rechambered to become what you were seeking in the first place.

wouldnt the 325 wsm be a short action gun? if so shouldnt he use a varmint style and rebarrel? everyone keep suggesting a sendero, but i thought the short mags were short action guns. Am i wrong ..... again?

The WSM's were chambered in short action rifles. The Senderos have been available in the RSAUM cartridges which are very similar to the WSM's.

If a short action Sendero can't be located a long action magazine can be modified to use the short action cartridges.

Will a 325WSM even fit in a Rem short action mag? It seems I remember reading that the WSM family of cases are longer then the RUSM cases. The 325WSM rifle that I saw at auction that caught my eye was the new single shot Browning hiwalls in that chambering. If he wants a Sendaro because of it's heavy barrel and long range accuracy then a hiwall might do it?
