Remington 700 BDL worth?

I recently acquired an old Remington 700 BDL in 30/06 cal and would like to know what it's worth if I decide to sell or trade it. The gun is in absolute mint condition with the open sights and has the classic style stock with the single line checkering and black forend tip. The person I got it from said his father fired 8 rounds through it and I have the box with the remaining 12 rounds. I called Remington with the serial number and it was made in 1975. This gun could pass as new

Without seeing it, or very good pictures of it, it is very difficult to guess at the value. The blue Book puts it at approximately $500.

"hold onto it. don't scratch it up using or cleaning it or change it's original configuration"... why not? this isn't a 'collector' it's a hunting rifle, worth what a current 700 is worth. a 30 year old rifle is still a 'pup'.
