28" or 26" Barrel

Is there any real difference in performance, such as range, between a 26" barrel and a 28" barrel? I'm looking at 20 gauge shotguns, if that makes a difference. Thanks.

No, You'll never see the difference performance wise other than which one swings and points best for you.
I saw a test that Lyman Co. did one time and they determined that each 1" of bbl length with target type 12 gauge loads was worth about 12fps (the longer the bbl the faster the velocity to a point).
When you're taking about around 1200fps and shots out to maybe 40 or 50yds it doesn't mean much, but a gun that fits you well will.

The performance difference in those 2 inches is very little.

You'd probably get a greater affect from sight radius and gun balance than velocity. But even on those there's very little difference between a 26 and 28

The 28 will get you two inches closer to the target.

The 28 may have a tad more weight out front, which may help/hinder your swing and followthru. Hold one of each and see which is most comfortable. The pellets and birds won't know/care.
