The front site on my bull barrel ruger mk II is loose and spinning. Still have the screw. What do I do to make sure it is aligned proper when I retighten it?

Thanks!

I remember the front sight on my MKII Bull Barrel fell off at the range. Lost the screw, so I ordered one and put the front sight back on with some locktite. No adjustment problems, it was sighted in the same as when it fell off.....

I had the same problem and used blue loctite on the screw and reinstalled. It positions itself pretty close to the origional sight picture. But since the rear sight is adjustable you must put in some fun range time to insure its correctly positioned. Simply adj the rear sight to comp for any change. It will never come off again!

I work as a millwright and I strongly suggest that you do not use red Locktite. I believe green is much better suited or maybe even blue. Check the package before you purchase the item. I have used red Locktite in the industrial environment, trust me, you will need a torch to get that screw out. Locktite expands as it dries. You need to liquefy the Locktite to back the screw out and heat is the only way.

I stand corrected I used the blue locktite to mount the front sight. The red stuff is for some of the Harley fasteners and yes you have to apply a little heat to remove the item.
