Advice needed on scope rings

I bought a Leupold M8 2x EER scope for my Ruger MK III. Can anyone suggest the appropriate rings? My Ruger came with a nice scope rail.(I tried Weaver's website but was referred to Ruger; Ruger was "taking inventory" and couldn't help me.) Thanks.

If you are prepared to lap the rings, Talley lightweights.

If you don't want to lap, then Burris Signature rings are supurb.

I used to try to find rings to fit a rifle...too much trouble and wasted money when they don't fit. Now, I see my gunsmith almost every time. He always makes a good fit. And he charges only a few bucks more for the rings than other stores. One trip, done...no wasted gasoline. Besides, I get to go to a big gunstore!

The added advantage is that, as a regular customer, I receive free expert advice when I have questions about other things besides rings and bases. (He knows that I will be back with something that he can charge me for.)

I will use Burris Signature rings on every scope I mount from here on out. Not overly expensive, but are fantastic.

    dbrigham,

Is yours a Competition model? I may be wrong, but I believe it uses different rings than the Weaver rail.
I haven't used the new Burris rings, but they sound very good. Just don't go to Wallyworld and buy the cheap aluminum rings. Been there, done that, trashed them. I mostly use Weaver.
