For under $300, what is the most reliable new 20gauge pump shotgun on the market? I've heard good things about Remington's 870 Express, but I'm curious on other's opinions. Thanks.

get a 870, if you werent looking for new I would look at a Ithaca. A Mossberg will work and is cheap, but most would agree that, that gun is probably not the best thing to buy. Its one of those things, where it looks good, works good, but really theres nothing good to say about it. If you look and use them they really are cheap

Nothing wrong with a Mossberg or a Remington. Only perk to the Rem is that they hold value better, and the reciever is steel.

My first gun was a Mossy 500. Never an issue with it. Its a workign mans gun.

mossberg all the way one of those guns just to have that you never get rid of. value of a shotgun in my opinion is its ablity to get the job done. Mossberg does just that so does a remington but more money and they dont fit me as well.

Never owned a twenty guage. But wouldn't trade my 12 guage mossy for two rems. It was inexpensive, takes a beating, and has never failed me even once. I won't say anything negative a rem but for me its mossbergs only.
