Could use help identifying an older European revolver. Would be easier if I could post photos but can't seem to do it on here. Anyway, it is a break top, barrel 4 7/8". Cylinder is 6 shot and will almost chamber a .38 S&W. Has side latch for "breaking". Checkered wooden grips and lanyard. Only marking on the whole thing is on left side of barrel in front of cylinder. Marking is: BREVET COUNET" around the stylized letters "AF". 4 digit serial number (?) under this. If you can be of help, I'll be glad to forward some photos. Thanks to all.

"Brevet Counet", means that the revolver was made under the patent(s) held by Philippe Counet who was a Belgian gunsmith active in last quarter of the 19th Century.

"AF", I Believe is the monogram/trade mark of Auguste Francotte, a very well known Belgian Gun Maker. His factory manufactured firearms as early as the 1830's and was still in business in the 1990's.
