Shilen Rifles

Where or who has knowledge of Shilen Rifles. The Blue Book of Values is somewhat incomplete. Would like to know the serial number ranges by year and model numbers, their values when Shilen stopped making their rifle. How many rifles were made in total and by caliber. Did Shilen ever sell the action only?

Shilen did sell their action separately. If you contacted them they may have the numbers and year of manufacture. Value is anyone's guess. They were very well made.

    trader0831,

Shilen sold actions only as well as making custom rifles for the shooting and target markets. They stopped making the actions and custom rifles in 1990 according to Shilen.

Occasionally you will see the actions or complete rifles for sale but not very often. The ones I've seen run in the $1500.00 area for the rifles but can range significantly higher depending on components and the gunsmith who put it together. Sporting rifles ran the price gamut also.

I haven't seen any definitive studies on the serial numbers or configurations but I can suggest that you contact Shilen directly since they will have all of the information there in the factory.

    Best.
