So heres the deal and I KNOW this is the place for the answer. Friend has a pre 64 94 and wants to put a large lever like the RIFLEMAN on it. There are some advertised on auction sites. Some say they are for post 64 others say they are for both. Question is are they all the same or are they different????? Thanx in advance Steve

    Hello Steve,

The dimensions should be the same for pre/post-64 '94's. They should interchange.

    BS,
I'm not versed on the new 94's but I certainly would check the part numbers of both levers both pre 64 and post. If they are the same, chances are they would interchange, but if they're different I would check further. It is a common practice for manufacturers to retain the same part numbers that fit both newer and older models. It is counter productive to assign different part numbers to two pieces that interchange. The cost savings would naturally be to have the part numbers that are the same fit both pieces. Hope it sheds some light

Auction sites? Most likely you are seeing substandard Chinese parts; if you friend buys ANY parts for his rifle, he should only buy from reputable dealers like Brownells.

Personally, I wouldn't pimp a classic rifle like a pre-64 Win 94. The large levers have no practical advantage; they only fill a demand created by a fantasy Western series. And, only an idiot would try to replicate with live ammo the feats demonstrated by Chuck Connors on the TV show.

Im sure he is not going to try any thing like chuck conners. He said he wants it larger to get his gloved hand in . Both Exxx and GB have them on auction some are said to be original equipt. But nobody seems to know if they are the same . I have no Brownells catalog anymore and cant look this up. Thanx Steve

You could do like Lucas McCain did and take it to a BlackSmith Shop !

Pre 64 and post 64 levers for the model 94 Win. are different. Size wise they are the same, however the slot for the link screw is different.
