how does it work? does the lever drop the bbl break action and you manually cock the hammer, or, does it lever back, eject, and cock the hammer?[?][?]

    define 'opens the action?'
what kind of action is it?
break or falling block or what?

first gun i ever bought with my own money, i was 15 and had a neighbor buy it for me for $20 at a pawn shop. that was 42 years ago. on mine the lever only dropped the barrel for loading/unloading

The underlever just opens (breaks) the barrel. Making this a break action. Just like a tang lever on a single shot or double barrel. The hammer must be cocked manually.

bingo. its a break action. so the bbl breech angles up when the action is open. perfect.
now, to close it. does the lever do that? meaning, do you have to operate the lever back up to lock it in battery?
    thanks!

Hello Bobski the lever just opens the action you manually have to close the action just like a top break single barrel shotgun . Cheers Karl. Did you trade your pigeon grade model 12 for it[:0][:0]?

keeping in mind ive never held one of these, im trying to figure it out.
is the lever spring loaded and does it return to the stock after you activate it? then, you close the bbl normally?
i mean im trying to figure out if the lever just dangles there until you do something with it. follow me?

bobski the lever is spring loaded.it is no more than a lever break open single shot shotgun.i have 3 of them 12ga,20ga,410.first gun i ever hunted with,my grandfather 20ga.kind of unusual.

how easy is it to break open? does the bbl just fall fast? im looking to use it for a quick second shot. how hard is it to cock that trigger? i use to have a fie or something from miami, that had a push down button next to the trigger guard. it fell open fast, but that hammer had massive spring tension and it closed under extreme spring tension too.
