managed recoil

Based on the really good information I got about starting out my grandson on deer loads, I think the managed recoil load from Remington in the 30.30 sounds really good. Any experinced, additional information on that would be really appreciated. I have an H&R Topper 158 that I am thinking about (professionally) making into a youth model. Thanks, but I really don't need any information about - if he is ready or not. I did not just fall off a turnip truck, so I have that one covered.

One option when converting your 158 to a youth size is the buy a replacement stock and save the original length for when he gets bigger or out grows it, so you can put it back original.
A quick look here at Numrichs shows they sell quite a few different 158 stocks. Original length and youth size. All for around $30. One bolt through the buttstock and you can change it yourself. Just an idea. Good luck.
