Can anyone tell me about these ?
I saw one today, very nice gun. Though it had a ported slide, the barrel was not. New barrel? Nice tight pistol but a search comes up with nothing.

Thanks

    Hello Rockmup,

If it is spelled Griffon instead of Griffin, it is South African Manufactured. The barrel and slide should be ported (yes, replacement barrel). Value is less than $400 in excellent condition.

Of course I spelled it wrong. Thank you for the reply.
One more question, will it take reg. 1911 parts ?

    Thanks again

EDIT: Google is my freind when I spell right. All drop-in parts work for the gun.

I had one of these. Good, well made gun. Fit and finish wasnt spectacular, but reliability and accuracy was excellent. Mine did not have a ported barrel either. Ported barrels were supposedly available as an accessory though. On mine, I threaded the barrel, and installed a screw on compensator from brownells, and had the trigger tuned a bit (was a touch rough when the sear broke). total cost i had in this thing was 370 bucks. guy at my local range saw it, shot it, was so im pressed he offered me a trade I couldnt resist (i now have a 1968 Python, mint, with box/book/etc). actually made money on that deal. Wouldnt mind finding another Griffin. And yes, "drop in" 1911 parts will fit.
