I had been told that marlin made changes in their lever action rifles for the new leverevoloution ammo. does anyone know what changes were made ?. I want to try the new ammo, but figured somthing must be up if they have modified for this new stuff. has anyone tried this in older 30-30, 35 , 444 marlins ? I have all three cal. and don't want to spend top dollar on ammo that wont work properly in them , especially in the field. thanks, Bob

Older models will accept the rounds all the same. From what i have read and seen the only real change was in the bullet. A rubber tip instead of a round nose. It will inprove range and accuracy but like you said it will cost probably .05 cent cheaper to reload.

The only change that I'm aware of to the newer Marlin rifles is a "slightly" redesigned bullet follower in the mag, that being a follower with a slight indent in the center of the follower to "center" the first round in the mag. and that is the only round that it has any influence on! I have an older .35 Marlin (1953) and with it and the new ammo I bagged two nice Pa. whitetails, one shot each, and no I don't have the upgraded follower. I also shoot an early Savage bolt 30-30 and another .35 using the new leverevolution ammo. It has excellent knockdown power but it is $xpensive! 1.00 a pop and up!
