I was given an old cavalry gun by my uncle and would like to figure out what the history is...can you advise? I have pictures.

i have a 20ga. shotgun that i bought of a guy that had got it from his grandfather that had it since he was a kid that got it from his dad the grandfather told him that it was the first bolt action made it has no numbers here is the writing on it o.f.mossberg and sons model 75-20ga. new haven conn.usa patents applied for. the gun is in great shape realy one of a kind but is it worth anything?

I have a gun and on the side it has a badge stamed that look like queen victoria's crown and with the following below it. V.R below it B.SA&M and below it a date 1888. I would like to know what rifle it is
