Winchester Buffalo Bill Commemorative

I have a mint condition Buffalo Bill commemorative carbine in 30-30 unfired with the box and papers that I received as a gift 1968-69 for good grades in school. Anyway, does anyone have any idea of the value of this rifle?

I looked on GB auction at Item #66726889 -- wow--they are asking $3,150 for that one--with gold trigger/medallion,gold medallion etc. Mine has a silver medallion with silver saddle ring and silver forestock cap and is a carbine as mentioned above.

I imagine these have escalated in value since the recent goings on with the Winchester factory in New Haven. I know that Dad spent appx. $70 for that rifle at that time.

I do not plan to sell it---but seeing the GB auction item, I am really curious as to the current value, and I didn't know where to look. Thanks in advance!

there were 300 of these made as compared to 100,000 of your buffalo bill they are selling at about $ 500.00 lately

$500.00 would be a fair price.

BUT it only retains that value if it remains in NIB condition even working the action can impact the value, and it is ever shot, it becomes a shooter.

These various commemoratives will never go up much. May as well shoot them and enjoy them. Most folks even shun them and consider the gingerbread a detract from value. I see a lot of these for 350 or so.

A lot of them do not evaluate a lot, but some do. The Blue Book had a rundown and values for the various Winnie commeratives last I looked. The John Wayne models, for example, have gotten very spendy.
