Question on browning a5

I have acquired a browning a5 12 gauge serial # 265317 1948? MY
question is it has a 30 in.plain barrel which is stippled,i can
not find any reference in my books,is this unusual?

This was common on some A5 barrels. I have a 28" plain barrel with the same thing. Browning called it a "plain matte rib".
