Good Day Forum,
I have a mis-matched AR assembly and was wondering if someone could tell me if it's worth keeping.
The upper is a pre-ban Colt 20" HBAR, 1/7 chrome lined w/ Colt bolt assembly. Also w/ new Trijicon irons.
The lower is a Bushmaster full stock w/ a J.P. Power Systems trigger assembly set at 2.5#. Crisp, no creep.
Overall condition is 99% and shoots sweet !!!
I'd like to know if the value is depreciated since it is not of one brand.
Thanks.

If its a good shooter, its worth keeping. Mismatched AR's are only worth what someone is willing to pay. I have seen them go for as little as 350 and as much as 1200. I built one with a Colt SP1 Upper and a Stag lower. Its a hell of a shooter, and that is all I care since I dont plan on selling it. This seems to be the chief motivation for people building such frankenstoners.

I don't know why the topic line says 'meenie child"... thats not at all what I typed there.
    Anyway

Paid $600 for it 6 years ago. All I've done are the sites for $75. It mostly is a slot-holder in the safe.
    Many Thanks!!!

You probably typed the word that means son of a bachelor, and the auto censor changed it.

    justright58,

Mismatched uppers and lowers are quite the norm nowadays. If you are selling it then you need to value what each component has on it. Some are worth the money and some aren't. Just remember too you have to take into consideration who the builder is. RRA and DPMS have both gone a lot this route. They send parts to a builder who puts it together and gets to call the gun an RRA or DPMS. That saves either company from having to hire and train a great big work force. They only assemble the high dollar stuff that goes to our gov't via contract.
