    Hello Peter,

Which specific variant of the Model 61 is it? If it is a "plane Jane" standard round barreled rifle chambered for 22 S, L, and LR, then $1775 would be right at the very upper end of the price range for a "NIB" specimen. If it is an octagon barreled, single cartridge chambering, pre-war manufacture, then $1775 is less than half of what it is worth.

edit: I went looking for the rifle in question, and after looking at it, my feeling is that it is worth at least $1775. The collector with the deepest pockets will likely get it for about $2500. The grooved top receiver adds a fair bit of value (and interest).
