INFO ON FRANCHI I-12

IM THINKING ABOUT GETTING A NEW FRANCHI I-12 WOULD LIKE TO KNOW HOW THE PATTERN IS AND HOW IT COMPARES TO OTHER GUN I HAVE AN 835 MOSSBERG AND JUST WANTING TO GET AN AUTOMATIC AND FOR THE PRICE OF THE FRANCHI IT NOT TO BAD JUST LIKE TO KNOW HOW IT PERFORMS

    I don't buy Franchi on general principle. There is a design problem with the SPAS-12 that makes it unsafe to use, but the company has refused to provide a redesigned fire control group to US customers.

    What's an I-12?

    The problem with the SPAS was addressed by the removal of the "flip lever" primary safety (the SPAS has 2 safeties) and replaced by a push button, TTBOMK, many folks opted to not send theirs back for repair. Hardly the fault of Luigi Franchi sp. a.

    It uses the Benelli recoil action. I have shot a few and were generally impressed. However I feel that the Browning Silver or its sister the Winchester Super X3 might be a better choice.
