Hi! I'm a newbie looking for a bit of help on dating a Winchester Model 70 in 300 Winchester Mag. It is Serial Number G1503X (5 digits after the G) and shows the words "Super Grade" on the barrel and bottom side of the magazine (floor plate?). From what I have been able to glean off the 'Net it is probably a USRA-manufactured gun. I have seen suggestions that it should have "USRA" on the buttplate, but it has "Winchester". I have also seen suggestions that USRA started over with serial number G-1 in the late '80's...

Would I be not far off to guess that it is an early 1990 manufacture?
