Reloading software

Can any of you recommend a good reloading software for less than 40.00? Also, where to get it. I want something that lists different powders, bullets, primers...

I know Ken Waters puts out some caliber specific manuals and I have 5 different reloading books, but want something electronic that will also give trajectory and energy.

Thanks in advance

The Hornady web site has a ballistics area you can figure out your energy and drop at different ranges. Works pretty good.

    Hi,
Go to the reloading section of these forums, and there are many factory sights listed for info.

Lee Precision has a great little cd rom that has tons of reloading info with what you are looking for and even has a target making feature. It's like their reloading manual but for your computer. Cabelas sells it for $14.00 or you might just order it direct from Lee.

I have the RCBS version, and like it. It has quite a bit of data base, and the options to upgrade from different powder/bullet manufacturers. It also has tons of other useful stuff likeExternal Ballistics calculator. It is not under 40.00 dollars, but not much over that either.

I am sure that our Moderator, Nononsense has some really good sources also...he is finatical about stuff like this...one of the best though!

Fanatical? Nah, I just love what I do!

    257izmycal,

It's hard for me to recommend any one particular program. We all have specific wants and needs and some programs will work better for you than others. Here's a link to a number of variations for problem solving software. Some is freeware, some is demoware with a purchase necessary to get the full versions. Spend some time reading through the offering and testing out what they have available:

If you have some more questions after going through the above, post again and we can help you sort them out.

    Best.

Having reloading software is like having reloading manuals, the more the merrier! Like nononsense mentioned, there are many good ones out there, but some work better for certain people.

It is not reloading software but Sierra's Infinity program is very, very useful when it comes to shooting. It contains info on just about every ammo maker for rimfire, pistol, and rifle. It is hard to tell you about all the goodies, but you can adjust it for any zero range you want, any range increment, and to just about any overall distance you want. Just tell it what caliber, bullet weight, velocity and your sight height and it will trace overall path, path in refernce to line of sight, wind drift, humidity, temp, etc.. You can change the way drop is shown from inches to millimeters or MOA and the MOA from a full MOA to 1/8MOA increments. It also will allow you to create your own custom bullet info to plot and compare several different loads at once.

Like I said, it is hard to explain all the pros about it, so here is a link that will probably do a better job than me,

    http://www.sierrabullets.com/index.cfm?section=reloading&page=infinity

I currently have Infinity 5.1, but I believe that they are about to launch their Infinity 6.0 here soon.

    Good Luck and Good Shooting![;)]
