My barrel will not tip up. The button that is pushed to the rear has little or no resistance. When you slide the button rearward the barrel will tip about a 32nd of an inch and that is all. Slide the button forward and the barrel is pulled back down. I just got the gun. The local gunsmith says something is bent and he will have to force it. Anyone have any ideas on what to do? Thanks, Mike

There is a very complicated spring that performs many functions in Reisings. If it is broken, and it sounds like it may be, I hope you have a very good gunsmith.

Thanks joel. Any idea what the gunsmith might do? I can still clean it, so what if I just shoot it the way it is?

If its still working the way it is, don't have him do anything as long as the gun is functioning OK. Be sure to only use standard speed .22LR ammo in it. If he forces it and breaks the spring, he will never be able to replace it. 40 years ago when I worked on repairs it took 3 tries to make one of those springs. It performs at least 3 functions.

Thanks joel. If it is alright I would like to keep you informed from time to time, as you seem to be the only person that understands what has happened.
