Poor Finish On Browning Buckmark

I have a Browning Buckmark .22 that after a few hundred rounds, ended up with a chip out of the finish in the upper rail where the casings are ejected. The finish is thick in this area and apparently the casings hit the finish and chipped it. I returned the gun to Browning for what I thought would be a warantee repair (defective finish). I was told that the total repair, clean, test and ship would be $93.00. Has anyone else had issues with the finish on the Browning Buckmark or with Browning repair? They told me it was a casing problem, not the finish. Is it me or is it Browning?

I am never going to buy another Browning!!!

I've gotten thousands of rounds thru mine never anything like that happened, I think I would request anotherlook from someone higher up the ladder, e-mail, ect, one of the vp's or some such, tell them what happened a spent casing should not scratch the finish that deep. worst thing that can happen is they say no.

I took your advice. They will look at it again on Monday and go from there. Thanks for the great advice! I will update this as soon as I hear back from Browning.
    Thanks again!

This is from a prior post of mine about Browning service...
    [:(][:(][:(][:(][:(]

Anyone else had problems with Browning service?? I had a 10ga. BPS barrel that had a bent rib. Sent it back to Browning to have rib replaced. Got it back in about three weeks and it was in worse shape than when it was sent out.
As soon as I opened up the box (which was well packaged and un-damaged) I noticed that the barrel lug that slides over the magazine tube was bent. So much that when I tried to assemble the barrel it wouldn't even line up with the receiver.
Then upon further inspection, I noticed the new rib was dinged and dented where they hammered in the roll pin that holds the rib on. Plus the roll pin was mushroomed. Now instead of a matte finish I have a dinged and dented rib with shiney spots.
I called Browning and their response was basically "sorry about your luck, ship it back to us and we'll take a look at it". NO THANK YOU, I just spent over $100 bucks to have you screw up my barrel worse than it was and you want me to spend more money and ship it back to you!!
Anyhow, just want to know if anyone else had any problems with them. I guess I made a good decision when the last shotgun I bought was a Benelli SBEII, almost bought a new Browning Silver, glad I went with the SBE. I recon Browning started going downhill at the demise of the famed "Humpback".
    Thanks, Jim
