Who manufactures scopes for Cabela? Just bought a Nikon Monarch but am considering a Cabela for 45-70.

Dont know who makes them but read the reviews on the Cabelas website. If your talking about the Cabelas lever action scopes the reviews seem scattered. Some love it, some hate it. I have the Marlin Guide Gun in 45-70 that I put a Nikon Pro Staff 2-7 on. Love it. They are on sale right now at Cabelas for $94. Check them out.

Cabela's has a few different manufactures for their scopes. Their inexpensive lines are made by Meade Optical. Meade owns Bushnell, Simmions and Tasco along with making several other names such as the Redhead line from Bass Pro. Cabela's Alaskan Guide line is made by Meopta in the Czech Republic and are first class European optics. Most people have never heard of Meopta as they primarily build parts for other manufactures, one of their top contracts is building the Conquest line for Zeiss.

What is your source for this information? [:)]

If its not an Alaskan Guide series its not worth buying a Cabelas scope. Even then, spend the money on name brand. Trust me I know, I've worked there.

I've read elsewhere that Meopta makes the Euro line binocs but the Cabelas Alaskan Guide line of scope are/were made by Pentax.
