Most likely a 1 in 16. That seems to be the standard in these type rifles.

I was thinking 1 in 16 but since it shoots shorts, long and long rifle I wondered if it may have been different. I was trying to figure out if it would stabilize a 60 grain bullet. I haven't shot it yet except once out the back door to see how quiet it was. It's real quiet with the CB longs.

Nope, not a chance...you need about a 1 in 8 to do that. They make a special barrel for the 10/22's for that, and use with the Aquila SSS 60 grain ammo.

Bummer, I've got 1 k rounds of the 60 grain stuff. I haven't tried it yet but now wonder how bad it will be.

I have an old 552 and love it. My favorite to shoot out of mine is the 22 shorts. [:D] Anyway it is 1 in 16 twist.

Pretty bad. From an ordinary .22LR barrel you can expect Aguila SSS 60 grain .22LR rounds to start keyholing at 15 yards due to poor stability.

For what its worth, most of the modern AR-15s use fast twist barrels, and supposedly the 60 grain ammo will shoot fine through them if you use the typical drop in .22LR conversion units.

So if you have an AR-15 that could be a good way to burn these up without having to buy a special gun or barrel.
