Bert/Cartod, please take a look at AA #10057306. This fella is talking about a made in 1937 "Youth Gun" with a serial number of 2939. (see pistol grip)There were no serial numbers on the 37 Win. except on the left side of the barrel of a few designated for export. Note the high spur hammer that I assume has a red dot underneath. According to my records the "Youth Gun" was introduced around 1958 which was a third generation 37 Win.(hammer wise)Do you think the number on the pistol grip is someone's inventory control number? What the heck. Any comments? Thank you.

My personal level of knowledge concerning the Model 37 is relatively limited as compared to the lever-action and single shot models. That said, the description of the gun in question is quite suspicious.
