I recently Took a Franchi 48AL in on trade. The Gun won't Eject. I dissassembled the gun and discovered the internals had been worked on by an amature or bad gunsmith. I was able to obtain all the replacement parts for the gun that I could see were tampered with including a new ejector and a new extractor. The gun still wont eject and seems to be out of time. The barrel has also had a cutts choke installed on it.Any Ideas on a repair woul be appreciated.

Could the Cutts Choke be adding enough weight to take away the inertia needed to eject? Clean the magazine tube well, and the slip ring...this could be creating to much friction slowing it down too much...especially if it is gummed up. Make sure the slip ring is installed correctly also.

have a look around for a burr, a raised bump/bruise on the action or around the trigger unit.. As this shotty has the inercia barrel, try bump it on a block of wood, by just pressing down on rear of the stock, with barrel on the wood, does it return smooth?

I used to have one of these. IIRC, the manual said not to use ported chokes on it.
I agree with tsr. The gun is recoil operated, so the Cutts is probably reducing the recoil just enough that it isn't operating correctly. If it is a newer model AL48, it uses Beretta chokes. Try replacing it and see if that works.
The other thing I would look at is the ring that goes around the magazine tube. Check to make sure that it is not installed backward. It should be flat on one side and beveled on the other. Unfortuately, I don't remember which side goes which way. I do know that if you put it on upside down it will not function correctly.

Gentlemen: Thanks for the imput. I think it is the cutts screwing up the action.
