I picked this up today along with a Beretta 948 22 semi (70%) and a Star 22 semi (95%). I believe this is a Model of 1953 "Pre 34", but I am not for sure. It has 2" barrel, 3 screw, cylinder is 1.25". Left side of barrel says "Smith & Wesson" and right side says "22 LR CTG" Serial #2744x. Someone put a little red paint on front sight, and it has a little muzzlewear, but other than that in excellent shape (I'm rating it overall 90%). Is it worth the $300 I paid, or did I pay too much? Any help is appreciated. Year of manufacture? I believe that I can post the pictures, but if they don't post, I may have to try again. Here goes.

Well, they posted, but my photography skills are limited at best.[:(]

You are correct. It is a 1953 Model 22/32 Kit Gun. Your particular revolver has the "Flat Latch" which was produced for a short time in the 1950's. I own 1953 Model 22/32 Kit Gun #11093 that was purchased new in the spring of 1955. Mine has the 4" barrel that I believe is much more common than is the 2" barrel.

Stan.... Herschel and you have it right. Its a Model of 1953 .22/32 Kit Gun, "Pre model 34". It was made about 1956 to 57.

The flat latches were used from about 1950 to 1966. These little beauties are hard to find these days. The $300.00 you paid is a good deal. I have managed to find some at my local auctions.
