Refinish for a Smith 642

I'm getting ready to add a 642 to my collection, as my flat-latch Chief Airweight is starting to show a little additional wear on the finish from riding in the car.
My only concern with the 642 is finish wear. I know that after it rides in the car and I carry it for awhile, the clearcoat finish is going to flake off. What will my options be to refinish it? I'd rather go for nickel (or something similar) than a colored finish. I figure that my options are probably limited, since the frame is a different material than the barrel and cylinder.
