Reloading for Desert Eagle

Folks,
I have been considering getting into a Desert Eagle Mark VII 44 Mag. Being and avid reloader AND a wheel gun fan, I am being scared off by the following:
1 - Picking up brass from all over the place.
2 - Brass being abused by the violence of the feeding process.
3 - Being limited by bullet selection due to:
A - Profiles that will feed properly.
B - Polygonal rifling precluding the use of cast bullets.

If anyone has experience reloading for the Desert Eagle, It would be great to get some input.

Is there any chance anybody out there reloads for their Desert Eagle .44 Magnum. About 20 years ago I made half a dozen loads for a friend with one to try, and only one would cycle the mechanism. It was the hottest load. But I gave him the details, and don't know what it was any more.
(As an aside, I do recollect that the 300 gr. Speer JSP's would not fit in the magazine. Just in case that can save anybody out there any trouble.)

i reload for my desert eagle 44 and 50ae, it likes them hot, i have had no problems not fitting in the mag, i have some 300jhp loaded for hunting. i dont over load i just load at the top of the scale and use cci 350mag primers.
maybe the 300 gr were not seated enough.
what powder did you use. i use 2400 and H110

Seems to me that back in those days I was new and broke, that's why I reloaded. I would search the info for a powder that would do all my calibers, so it seems to me like my powder de jour was HS-6 at the time, as it would do 9mm and .44.

The Desert Eagle likes loads on the top end. I use 2400 for both the 357Mag and the 44Mag. A little dirty but it gets really good performance. Also have found that 296 works really well too. All Magnum primers.

Thanks 5mm: But do you mind including the recipes? Speer manual #11 is my reference. Magnum primers, various powders, (2400, H-110, and 296), but how much?
