If I were you I would take it back to the gun shop and return it for your full payment, including all fees. They won't want to reimburse you for the fees, but insist.

If they don't want to take responsibility for selling unserviceable goods, then they should sell goods that are serviceable.

    OR................

They should take the gun and act as intermediary for you with the manufacturer. You shouldn't have to go it alone with a brand new gun. The dealer should be able to give you updates on the status of the manufacturer's progress in getting your gun back to you. If you feel you are getting the run-a-round, litigate in small-claims court. Litigate against the dealer and the manufacturer. Since you took possession of the gun in your city, you can argue that the chain of custody of the weapon ended with your purchase as the end-user. Therefore FOB point (where possession took place) is your city. That may keep the manufacturer on the hook in case he argues that he's not being sued in the correct venue.

If the gun's still bad after one trip to the manufacturer (estimated time 4-6 weeks or more), they should replace it and pick up all fees you would have to incur for that process.

    We need more information, like:
    - exactly which model?
    - what caliber?
    - what type ammo are you using?
    - describe how it jams; e.g., failure to extract, failure to eject, failure to strip next round, close on empty case, failure to chamber new round, etc

Especially if you are new to shooting, make sure you are holding the gun EXTREMELY FIRMLY when you shoot.

Particularly with small, lightweight guns, if you don't grip the gun tightly, it will regularly jam.

Take the clip out and put a magazine in it. Problem solved.

Send it back to Taurus. Better them fix it, then you have to try to figure out what's wrong.

As stated above send it to Taurus, they do honor thier warranty, You do not have to go back to the dealer who sold it to you, send it direct and relax.

These are good guns, but just like S&W, Colt, or Beretta they make one thats a little off now and again. Send it in and they will make it right. When you get it back and it runs well, you will love the gun trust me.

Just be glad that the gunmakers make a more consistent product than the automakers. Just look at all the recalls they put out.

You are absolutely right about the Lifetime Warranty,But some of there guns just cant be repaired ! I bought new, a Taurus PT-908
Compact Combat Auto, In 9MM Para. The repair facility in Miami, had my gun in their possession, longer than I had it in my possession !
they attampted to repair the gun Three times,to no avail, I sold that piece of junk, and vowed to never own another Taurus product.
My gun was having the same problems as Andre. and they never ever offered a replacement!!!

Have someone else fire the weapon and see if he has the same problem.
That should be the first thing you do! Is the pistol properly lubricated?
