My husband recently purchased an old long gun. I cannot find info on it. The markings on the barrel are a capital R with what looks like a crown on it, a Y, what looks kind of like a pineapple with a capital E in it and the letters puzzil? Any help would be great.

    googlebutts,

Just offhand I would say a Swede. But, pics in this case would really, really help if you could get them.

Without pics we would at least need to know if it is a rifle or a shotgun. Approximate length overall and length of barrel. Is there a brass circular table like thing in the buttstock (called a cartouche). How much does he know about it? Caliber for instance. Most guys, when they get a gun, want to know what caliber or gauge it is first thing.

Actually, I'm the one that knows more. Pitiful. It looks like a small caliber, maybe .22 or the like. It is a rifle. I am going to get some pics later today and post them. The piece with the firing pin is gone and I don't think this is the original stock, so I am relying on the barrel for identification.
