I have about $300 and cant choose between the two. A personal review or another idea would be a lot of help.

thanks

Neither, get the Stevens Model 200.

Neither - Search the reviews of guns here. You can buy a quality used gun, like a Savage w/ accu-trigger for that $. You may even find a 700 for that. On gunbroker, I bought a Win 70 Classic Stainless w/ a Leupold Vari-x III for 500, then sold the scope on ebay for 300. Great guns out there, don't settle for the low end.

Between the two I would spring for the mossberg, because of their customer service and experience i have had in the past.

The stevens is a run of the mill savage if you like the stevens just buy a savage in my opinion. milage may vary.

The Mossberg 100 rifles are really decent guns. I've got 1 in 243win and it will hang with my Rem 700's. I would buy another Mossy if I came across a deal. They are just as good as the Stevens.

Neither one of those guns is really worth the money they are asking. I would also choose the Stevens or the Savage. Much better gun for the same amount or less! If you must have either the Remington or the Mossberg, I guess I would choose the Mossberg.

Go with a used savage or a stevens. Every 100 ATR that I have had come into my shop has had the worst possible trigger. I'm talking about a trigger that is so heavy that while checking for the pull weight you stop to see if you left the safety on, after all, no trigger should be 8 lbs on a 6 lbs youth rifle. The 710 isn't any better and the fit and finish are worse than the Mossberg. You can find a Savage 110FXP in the $350 range that will put both of the other to shame if you can spare another $50.
