Do not get me wrong I do own several SW's a few Dan Wesson's and Rugers and you do get what you pay for. But to call a HI POINT junk when it carries the best warranty on the planet no questions asked...what are you thinking?
that is used to compare quality and price. The Hi Point will most likely still be there at the same price a month from now. It's probably OK, but there is better for not much more.
They are much better feeling, aesthetically pleasing, hand-filling, and only run around $300 or so.
BONUS- you could probably find accessories and parts for the Witness.
I own a HiPoint CARBINE, which is robust, overengineered, and weighs more than it should; but it shoots every time, is fairly accurate, and only cost $225 when I got it about 8 years ago. Wouldn't own one of their pistols.
Look at the catalog of any major holster manufacturer and see if anyone makes a holster for a Hi-Point. They don't.
GET A .22!!!
thank you everyone for your input...it was somethin i was goin to purchase cause its 145.00 and i am just gettin into handguns.i didnt want to make a big purchase and then not be that into it.i have been into hunting for years and thought about gettin a handgun. (basically a starter)just to see if somethin i want..then in the future i would step it up a notch..but thanks everyone for their input..
If you want something to turn you off handgun shooting, a Highpoint will do it. The Highpoint may go bang every time but there is much more to shooting than making noise.
A quality 22 it the best way to start out. Even after you graduate to bigger guns the 22's are great inexpensive practice, and a joy to shoot. For $200 you should be able to find a good used Ruger(which should last you forever). There is a big difference between having a lifetime warranty and having a gun that will be with you for a lifetime.
