I recently aquired the two S&W revolvers listed above form a lat relatives estate. They are both aire-lite models one in .22 lr the other in .357 magnum. They appear to be stainless steel and very light weight with adjustable hi-viz sights and rubber grips. A friend told me they were kit gun models. Could you tell me the approximate value of these? Iwould rate them at 96-98%. Thanks.

The Smith 317 and 360 are not stainless but lighter materials.

The 317 .22lr has an aluminum alloy "J" size frame, cylinder and barrel. The barrel has a steel sleeve insert for strength. I have a consecutive numbered pair of these neat little guns.

The model 360 .357 is also a "J" frame, made of an aluminum /scandium alloy with a titanium cylinder. This model has a small stainless "flame shield" under the backstrap to protect it from flame cutting.

Although not stamped "kit gun" these models are considered kit guns due to their small size and light weight. The 317's in good condition are about $300.00 to $350.00. The 360 about $450.00 to $550.00

Does the s&w 317 also shoot .22 longs and shorts? I know the little taurus .22 chambers them all. I ask because I can get a super deal on shorts and longs in bulk.
