does anyone have the ratio of set triggers made for the 1873 rifle? I don't find it anywhere on the internet, and was wondering how rare it is to have one on an 1873. thanks

The Winchester Book by George Madis has percentages of such features for each model. My copy took a walk or I would look it up for you. He has a www site but I doubt it shows such details even on the "members area" when he wants to sell books.

Madis says that 1 in every 26 rifles had set triggers. However, there are other reference works that discuss the Model 73 and they may state a different ratio.

There are no "accurate" published rarity tables (lists) for the Model 1873 (please keep in mind that Winchester manufactured 720,000+ of them over nearly a 50-year span). It would be a monumental task to survey that many records.

Please be advised that the information Madis published concerning production ratios has been proven to be completely bogus for a siginificant number of the various models.
