Gentlemen, I need some help in ID-ing my S MARCO 1847 Colt Walker revolver.I will email photos to those who may want to assist me.I will describe what I have. Italian Proof markings..BUT NO DATE CODE can I find on the revolver anywhere. It has a Brass/Gold ?? ring around the back of cylinder//The muzzle has 2 similar rings. The Patent # on the Cylinder AND Revolver Serial number MATCH. The FRAME holding the cyl./hammer above the brass trigger frame is profusely & nicely engraved in its entirity along with the barrel assembly(flat side)before it junctions the round barrel.Back strap/triggerguard are also engraved. The revolver is UNFIRED.....I can find NO info on this obviously scarce revolver. Any info or assistance will be welcomed. I will also reply to all emails. Thanks !!

This is the less embellished version I believe...
There are a few folks that do collect the modern repros, most though use them as shooters or wallhangers/decorators.
You might try checking the auctions and various on-line sites that specialize in BP guns to get a Ball Park value. IMHO though it's not likely to be a big buck item. Value is predicated on demand. The only BP revolvers I've seen sell for descent money are the ones that were actually sold by Colt during the 80's/90's time frame. And these would have to be NIB with all accessories and paperwork.
