I must first apologize for my lack of correct terminology, I am a complete gun novice.
From the serial number 18134 and the hammer design, I have determined this gun to be an 1885 model. There are also patent markings as follows ??G ? 1871
APR 10 1872
The numbers 14 and 11 are also stamped on the "watertable"? The bottom of the barrels has a P and 8 stamped. Also, 3298 is stamped where the barrels attach to the watertable. I am not sure how to differentiate between damascus and twisted steel. I am hoping to find out the grade, I gather there were 7 versions possible. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
