    They were a gas operated autoloader that was discontinued in the mid-70's. I personally never cared for them, compared to my Remington 1100, I found them wanting. If I had one in 20 gauge -- which would bring premium over 12 gauge in quail country as it is here in north central Florida and you offered me $200 --- it would be your shotgun.

    Personally I think the Beretta AL2 is far superior to the Remi 1100. I've owned one since 1972 and still shooting like a champ! When I take hold of an 1100 I cringe at the weight. Having said that I also think the current Beretta's weight too much also. I'm a dove hunter so I don't need the 3" capability.

    The thing to do to find the price is to do an advanced search on GB and look at completed listings. It will give you an idea of what people are willing to pay.

    The al-2 imo,,is one of the fastest operating guns well ahead of its time. Light weight and just a very nice item. AL-2s must be in excellent condition for good money,,,most people dont know what they are so anywhere between 250-400 here and thats a guess. Look uo ended auctions as stated above,,ones that SOLD...
