    They come and go. You just put Numrich into your autodial and call every so often. I called for awhile looking for some parts...one of which they said they hadn't had for a while. Called one day still didn't have it, called the next day...they had it!! Go figure. I think you just need to hit it right.

    The original Colt "New Army", circa 1892-1907. Was never chambered for .38 Special, only .38 Long Colt, among other calibers.

    If your talking about the "Army Special" instead, it was chambered for the .38 Special. For marketing purposes Colt changed the name of the "Army Special" to "Official Police" in 1927.

    Likely you will have much better luck obtaining a .38 Cal. barrel for the "Official Police" rather then the other two, as it's more commonly seen at this late date. If you are just wanting to replace a barrel with a bad bore, one from a "Official Police", likely will be easier to obtain.

    Thanks. It is probably an Army Special. I looking to try to find it for a co-worker and probably got the name mixed up. I do know he said it was a .38SPL.
