Scope mount for Desert Eagle

I recently purchased a Desert Eagle .44, and am currently waiting the DROS period. I have a question about the rib, and hope I haven't purchased the wrong gun.

Most of the photos of Desert Eagles show slots in the rib over the barrel for the scope rings to lock into. The pistol I purchased DOES NOT have the slots. Did I purchase a pistol that is not made for a scope? Is there a special set of rings to fit a gun without the slots?

Would appreciate if anybody knows out there.

    First Big Foot,

You need to read the FAQs page at Magnum Research for the distinctions between models. There is a size difference between dovetails and which one has the cross slots.

Now you can look at the 'scopes and mounts' page to see what will work with your pistol. If your version doesn't have any cross slots, you'll need to buy an additional mount base to attach to the dovetail then add your rings.

    Best.
