I am thinking of making a Nagant into a .22 blaster. Has anyone else tried? Got any thoughts? Thanks for the help,(22sport)

Unless you have access to a machine shop and our a skilled machinist. It would be a very difficult and expensive job. The easiest way would be to alter the firing pin on the hammer so that it impacted the rim of the .22 cartridge rather then the center. All you would have to do the then was to epoxy the sleeves for the cylinder and rifle tube for the barrel. Way to much work considering the crummy trigger pull on the Nagants.

I had a Soviet made original.22 Nagant years ago. Got rid of it to a collector, because it was a pita to shoot accurately.

I don't think the work would be all that hard. It would make a good winter project.

Hello check out Lothar Walther they make a number of 22 adapters for revolvers using insert cartridges that allow a center fire firing pin to fire 22 rim fire . If you need pictures send me a email to my profile.
