I have an older model and the first item is they have a rep for not being the most reliable semi auto out there. I've heard they're being manufactured again and can't speak to current models, but I made certain to find a few brands/types of ammo that work well and stick with them. Winchester white box hardball always works as does Speer 200 grain Gold Dot.

The DA trigger pull is very heavy and there's not much you can do to change it. If you have a habit of tinkering to make improvements such as a smoother or lighter DA pull, I'd say don't bother. And don't remove the grips & pull the trigger - there's a spring set up that may pop loose and the DA trigger bar can come off its pin above the trigger. Believe it or not, that $.45 plastic grip panel keeps the DA bar flat & in place on the trigger stud.

The trough sights work pretty well. I use a 6 o'clock hold.

Have I left anything out ........

    Oh yes - recoil.

It does kick. Alot. Very sharp and directly back into the web of your hand. There's no hammer bite of course, but the top of the frame slams back into the web pretty sharply and it does take a toll. Between the heavy trigger pull and recoil you'll do well to zip through a box of ammo. And I'm not recoil shy, shoot an Encore in 405 & 416 and the small frame 1911s all day long.

So long as you can get it to work reliably I think it's a great compact 45 ACP.
