Local trading

hello. I'm the FNG. Nice to meet everyone. Several months ago I bought a Kel-Tec P-3AT. Ive had no problems with it but due to it's lack of a traditional safety, I'm not always comfortable carrying it with a round chambered. So I was thinking of trading it at a local show. Would I receive a more fair trade in value if I go to a gun show compared to a local dealer? Thanks.

Forget about "trades"; that rarely gives you a fair return today. You have to find just the right person, which hardly ever happens.
Besides, it's unlikely you will get as much for your old gun as you would here. (This IS a gun auction site.)

Welcome to the GB forums!
You will NOT get a Fair Trade Value from either one. Trading guns at a gunshow or to a local store will usually net you somewhere around 25 - 30% of the value of the firearm. The buyer has to make money so they offer the least they can to you in hopes of maximizing their profits when they resell it. If the general public shows less interest in some firearms, the offer will be lower also.
Sell it here at Auction.
Best.
