Can anyone tell me if the action slide spring on a Winchester 1897 is the same from the first year production to the end of it's production or were there different types? Thanks in advance for any info.

I don't know for sure, so I won't state my opinion at this point. However, can you tell us why you ask the question? It would be good to know if you having some kind of problem and what the nature of it is that makes you contemplate that there may be variations of the Winchester Model 1897 Action Slide Spring.

the action slide spring is the 1 coil spring that goes around the magazine tube under the forend, this was the same for the life of the '97 (also the m-12, same part))
