What is approx value of a Colt AR-15 Sporter. CORRECTION It was made in 1966.

    I thought these werent available until 1963 ? Once we get past that then condition , originality etc will be HUGE factors in the value of this gun . It also may be worth more in some states than others based on assualt weapon ban laws and other restrictions. NY still has the law in effect. I guess a ballpark for what its worth is probably around $1500 in 80%.

    Recently sales on this site for early Sporters have been in the $800-1,000 range. The top price is for close to 100% condition.

    Open front FH, original box, or original accessory pack could increase that.

    ("Very good" is not descriptive enough to tell much. Condition of modern guns is given as a percentage of finish remaining - 0-100% - plus alterations, damage, & mutilation.)
